So meteorological summer ends this weekend and like many, I am left asking if that was it?
Now in our 22nd year at 3B, its fair to say I have seen the seasons come and go and its true what they say, the years go quicker and quicker the older you get.
This year has been a strange one. Whilst the weather has unquestionably let us down, we have had the usual high demand from tourists and visitors alike wanting to jump in a hire car and explore the countryside around us.
I am always amazed at how many visitors we have from all over the world visit 3B in the summer months. Whilst this took an obvious dip for a while after covid, it is great to see all the Australians, Americans and New Zealanders, amongst others, back enjoying the great British summer!
Here at 3B we have been busy as usual. This summer has seen us renew partnerships with Wycombe Wanderers football club and Chinnor rugby club. We have also been adding to our range of people carriers with brand new models on the fleet with the addition of the new Ford Transit Custom Tourneo 8 seater and the stunning VW Multivan 7 seat. When I compare these to the models I used to rent 15-20 years ago, its fair to say they have come a long way!
Our delivery and collection service has flourished this year as well in our first full summer. Many of our clients love the convenience of having their hire car or van delivered and collected to their doorstep. This is a service we also offer to businesses alongside tailored rates and some great discounts for clients who have their own fleet insurance.
The other thing worth mentioning about this summer is the utilisation of our electric vans. Whilst fully electric cars are still an acquired taste for many, it’s fair to say that the E-Transit vans have been a roaring success. With a realistic range of 150 miles and no need to charge before returning, its not hard to see why so many of our customers are now specifically asking for electric.
And so here we come to autumn. Traditionally another fairly busy time in rental. After that comes the dread C word – no I wont say it. It can’t be that time of year again already – can it?
