After nearly 2 years of hard work, we are pleased to say that Haddenham now has an EV hire club!
Based at the village hall, with its own dedicated space and charge point, the latest addition to our Thame & Haddenham EV hire club is now live.
Available to rent from as little as 1 hour, using just your smartphone to unlock, start and drive the car, the EV hire club offers a low-cost alternative to ownership. The car is less than £10 to rent for an hour and this includes the first full charge of electricity and insurance. The longer you use it for – the cheaper it gets!
Its long been accepted that over the life cycle of an electric car, the carbon footprint is lower than a diesel or petrol alternative. Once you start bringing car sharing into the mix and the effect is amplified to a whole new level. Our aim is to get those who are undecided if they need that second family car to give the club a go. It’s also a great way to experience driving an EV if you are a first-time user.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of those who have contributed to the scheme from Haddenham Parish Council, Zero Carbon Haddenham, Thame Green Living and Hiyacar. And of course, all of those who have used our Thame car already.
We really hope the community of Haddenham likes the car and scheme and more importantly uses it!
