As you may have seen at the recent Thame Drive Electric event, we are soon to launch an Electric Vehicle Hire Club in the area.
With a low monthly membership, you will be able to rent any of our electric car’s by the hour.
Currently we are working through the logistics with our stakeholders on charging, delivery staff and availability of vehicles. Once we have these issues nailed down we will be ready to go.

The basics of the scheme are as follows:
Basically, it’s a simple, low-cost way of hiring an Electric Vehicle for just the time you need it and no longer. It works like this:
- You complete a membership form
- We send you an email with a link to setup a monthly direct debit of £7.50 per month – this is your membership fee, regardless of how often you use the club. You can leave at any time
- We carry put some basic checks of your licence and load your details onto our system
- Each time you need a vehicle you simply call and book yourself in. We can either deliver or you can collect the vehicle at an agreed location. We carry out the usual pre-rental checks including damage reports
- When you are finished you simply call us to off-hire the vehicle.
- We come and collect the car as arranged when you call
- You will only be charged for the time you used the vehicle. Once you call us to say you are finished, we stop the rental. You are only charged per hour. Prices vary from £5 to £7.50 per hour depending on the size of the vehicle requested. Our on-board telematics will tell us when the vehicle was used so we can charge you accordingly
- We bill you via direct debit at the end of each rental
The club will be a first for the area and a big step forward for Thame & Haddenham as they look to become greener places to live. Our aim is to learn as we go and tailor the club to suit its members as much as possible.
